Vitamin C Spectrophotometry

I have been doing experiments measuring vitamin C concentration in teas. I brewed and diluted black tea and placed it in the spectrophotometer after blanking the machine. Black tea does not contain vitamin C but I somehow managed to get a reading of 1.473. Can anyone explain how I got this answer?
Hi,

POSSIBLE REASONS:

1. An artefact
2. Some other chemical compound produced with a near identical absorption spectrum??
3. Error in calibration.

Whatever the reason, it gives you a lot of scope to go through in your Discussion!
