Publishing and embargoes

During my VIVA both my examiners suggested I looked in to getting my thesis published. I have finally got around to doing this and a publisher has expressed interest in my work. However, they have insisted that the electronic version of my thesis is embargoed before they proceed further. I contacted my University some time ago regarding this but am still awaiting a reply so, in the meantime, I was wondering if somebody could advise me if obtaining an embargo is likely to be a straightforward process or if there will be complications since it is several months since I submitted the final version of my thesis to the university. Thanks for your help.
