Hi! I have been offered a place to study Psychology at Lancaster and really love the university.

I was just wondering what happens in the last couple of weeks in the summer term and whether you have to stay at the university?

I would love to take part in a volunteering placement where you have to be able to leave by 20th June at the latest. I was wondering if it would still be possible for me to do this if I come to Lancaster?

    Thankyou

Soon as you have sat your last exam. + moved out of your accommodation and handed in any final work.

Is this the same for EU students?

Check with your department, but my understanding and experience has been that as soon as you have done your last exams, then your time is your own and it is unlikely new lectures will begin till the following academic year. The only other aspect is if you need to come back for resits, but they tend to be in late July or August.

    Update

I have just thought of a new angle, which you should check out if it applies to you.

If you are an EU student and receiving a loan from SFE under the working migrant scheme and go back to the continent after exams have finished, but before the official term has ended, then you should check with SFE as to whether this would be permitted and your working migrant status is preserved.
