if you don't already work for tesco, call up your local store (go on www.tesco.com and click on store locator in the bottom right) and ask to speak to the personnel manager. instead of doing your critique in isolation, ask if you can spend time with one of the section managers and get them to help you so you really understand the opportunities and limitations.

In all of your preparation, remember to think about how the following are impacted:
PEOPLE (STAFF)
CUSTOMER
OPERATIONS
FINANCE

Keep those four key points in mind and it should help with all of the exercises.

Hey thanks for the advice, I will consider those ares when writing up my report.

have you been or going to an assessment centre? what day?

yes i used to work at my local store so iv managed to use my contacts to get in there..have you also done the same with rivals ie ASDA or have you just gone in alone and done a review?

Are you guys going on the graduate trainee scheme ? I've applied and got my interview for the a-level options programme as a trainee section manager, worried there will be a report involved in the assessement now :frown:

Hiya, yeah im in the same boat. Have been waiting since december for news on the assessment centre so its been quite a waste. From reading stuff on here it usually occurs mid march so should be hearing soon hopefully. u in for the store one?

I got my email today saying my assessment is 4th March... only downside is that is 85miles away so it's going to be like 170 mile round trip just for what's essentially an interview... eeeek! :eek3:

Anyone know what to expect??

Had word there today, my assessment is 18th march ... im from northern ireland so also a bit of a journey. I'm internal but don't think theres really much difference, think its the exact same assessment centre
