Loneliness

Basically whilst I've been at university this year I have felt pretty lonely, especially this semester. I have joined a few societies which was good to start off with then people left and less and less social events were organised. With the good weather as of late I just walked around and see people in groups soaking in the sun and just having fun really. I think I could make more of an effort to reach out to people, it's just when I've done this they've made an excuse and as a result my confidence has been knocked down. Anyone else feel this way?

It’s a common occurrence but you just gotta get out there. Have you got flat mates or course mates you can go with? Don’t let it eat you down though, there’s always next year you can start up your social life again.
Yeah I hang out with flatmates, I just don't really click with them in terms of interests. I feel I could make more effort with coursemates in all honesty. Yes, that's true I'll not give up hope for next year(I'm in first year currently).
See if you can develop some common interests with your flat mates whether that’s hanging out gaming or just socialising in a spoons. In terms of course mates, just throw yourself into it. 2nd year, you can develop yourself better so don’t worry

Yeah we've gone out to spoons before and I usually have to break the silence and talk. This is all solid advice; next year I hope its different, thank you
No problem
