Welsh Baccalaureate

Hi everyone!
I'm currently studying the Welsh Baccalaureate at my High School (it's mandatory) and they keep telling us that "some of the top universities in the country now recognize it". Unfortunately I have no idea which ones :s-smilie:
I'm interested in applying to Law at some top Unis. My grades are below in the sig so I hope they're good enough. However, if any of the Unis don't like the WB then I'm kinda screwed. I'm hoping for an A in 3 A-Levels so that's 360 UCAS Points. The WB guarentees me an extra 120 (equivalent to an A) so that'd take me to 480.
Any info on Oxbridge, Nottingham, KCL, UCL, Durham? Y'know, the big ones. I know all the Welsh Unis do, they kinda have to and I'm thinking of Cardiff as a possibility.
I'm also worried that the UCAS site puts Oxbridges wanted points above 500! Too high for me. Can I swing it somehow?
Any advice?

Thanks in advance,

check the prospectus?if you have one or just have a look at the website im sure they cant want more than 3 As

oxford gave me an offer of AAB for law with my scottish qualifications and they have loads of french/intternational baccalaurate people so i wouldn't worry about it
My school tried to make me do it, telling me that it would give me 120 ucas points.

I assume that someone aiming for Oxbridge isn't going to apply anywhere that ask for requirements in points.

Oxford will consider it
Bristol and Notts only ask 4 2 As instead of 3 if you have Welsh bacc
quite a few unis do
you jus have 2 flag up that its the advanced 1
cuz the standard 1 isn't the equivalent of an A level.

Don't worry too much. The Welsh Baccalaureate, *******s though it is, shouldn't disadvantage you from applying to top unis. Few places will actually include it in their offer (at least most wouldn't for me, 3 years ago) but they'll be prepared to make you an offer based on your 3 A2s. Cambridge will certainly.

Oxbridge don't make points offers- they ask for specific grades. I don't know where they say they want more than 500 points- my offer was AABa (which adds up to 400) and only because I was doing an AS that was asked for by the course. Most people get AAA offers- you're only disadvantaged if you're only doing 3 A2s if you go to a school where 4 or 5 A2s is the norm.

Cambridge's website says they expect people taking the welsh baccalaureate to have 3 A-levels. 3 As at a-level can get you to any uni in the country. Even with Welsh Bac

Good Luck

P.S. Of the unis I applied for, the only one which made an offer including the Welsh Bac was Nottingham, which asked for AACa without the welsh bac or AAa and the Welsh Bac. But this was 2.5 years ago.

P.P.S Your grades are fine.
