Anyone’s got a start date for Manchester. I got all clear on my pre employment checks on 23/7. I emailed them 2 days back about a likely start date and got a standard reply saying they are still finalising start dates

Hi does anyone how flexi hours work at hmrc and what degree of flexibility is there in starting early and leaving early?

As far as I’m aware hmrc is one of the few places that don’t have flexi time for the role we’ve applied to. As they need people at phones to answer incoming calls I don’t think there is flexi time available but I may be wrong, was like that when someone I know was working there a couple of years ago though.

was wondering what score did people get on the numerical test and verbal reason I got a 47% better and a 64% better not as good as I wanted it be

I just applied for a part time role at Leeds/Bradford to help fund my PhD (think they put out a new ad extending the deadline), as my expected funding did not materialise. I got 97% and 95%, so hopefully will get an interview. On that subject, I see people are posting interview scores of 455, 777, 465 etc. Can anyone help to enlighten me on the interview process, and what those scores mean? Thanks!

Well done on the test scores, you should get an interview! The interview is based on the civil service competency framework ( have a read of it) They will tell you what competency they are going to ask you about and you need to think of an example of how you meet this competency and then you are marked by the interviewer, 7 being the highest. Hope this helps.

Anyone still waiting for a formal offer ? I got my dbs Certificate last Friday and had to fill out a questionnaire about my current job and my references have been contacted this week but my account still says -conducting some pre-employment checks before we make you a formal offer. , the wait is agonising 😫 I emailed yesterday but just got the automated response that my email had been received and no response yet so probably Monday before I get a response from that .

I received a provisional offer for Glasgow on 23rd July and still waiting for checks to be completed. I haven’t yet received a tracking number for the DBS checks so getting a bit anxious haha but I know it’s meant to take approx 4 weeks so don’t want to email anyone yet.

I also have a long notice period at my current job and I’m wondering if they’ll take that into account with the start date? Will there be different options for start dates? I know I could just leave but I’d rather leave amicably, if possible 😂

I had my provisional offer on 19th July, I'm due to start a new job on Monday so I emailed for an update because I really hate the thought of starting a new job to then leave within a month or so. In there reply they said they cant comment on individual checks but they will take into consideration any notice period for current jobs and holidays which are booked.

That’s great, thanks for letting me know. Whoa that is an awkward situation! Good luck with that!

I got another email today asking for 2 personal references. Glad to see the process is moving along.

They really do like to keep people hanging on 🙄 yeah, I hope they put you out of your misery soon!

Also received the tracking email for DBS today, I think they read my mind as I just started panicking about that recently 😂
