I just received an email asking for any notice period I would have to serve with a current employer. Has anyone else received this?

Anyone in a similar position for Manchester/Salford

1. Got my P/O on the 12th filled in the forms that day e.g. references.
2. Then last week I received my DBS check says the date of issue 20/11/18
3. Then last Friday I got my references request that I sent to them on Saturday/Sunday (Also was a bit confused why they asked for references when I gave them personal references when I filled in the initial online form)
4. Might be just me worrying a bit but one of my references they sent an email for a reference and they said do you know my previous works/location which I thought was a strange question that my referee knows me but not really where I worked at in full detail. (Might be just me)
5. Then today at 13.48 they sent me an email saying

Further to your recent application for a job opportunity within HMRC as a Customer Services Consultant.

I note from your application that you are currently undergoing Pre-employment checks.

If you are successful in these checks, and we are able to make you a Formal Job Offer could you please advise of any notice period that you may have to serve with a current employer.

That's about all I know at the minute

I don’t think you should worry too much. It’s probably just protocol to ask them questions seeing as it’s the civil service. But yeah I just received the same email. Maybe it hadn’t updated on their system that the checks have been passed. Hopefully we should all hear back with start dates soon

My guess is if they are asking us now for notice periods then maybe a mid December start could be possible, but it’s hard to say as the process has been quite long. But it’s a good sign that the process is picking up pace now

I havnt recieved anything since my PO on the 12th October. I keep checking my emails constantly. Would be nice to hear some kind of update😒 im guessing there may be many start dates and those whos checks are completed first may get the start date first

Do you have any notice?

Reply 779

What’s everyone’s notice period? Mines only one week.
