I’m not too sure if it’s is optional or not maybe check in the job description and hand book and see if it’s says anything in there. If you are going to be doing the apprentiship they will need to see gcse certicates for your registration on to it. They may not need them on the first day you start they may do them in batches if they have a lot of new recruits

Thanks for the information  I'll just provide the transcript and if they insist on certificates I'll bite the bullet and buy them. I'm game to get a qualification 😂

Does everyone get enrolled into the apprenticeship or is it an option? I didn’t apply to get into any apprenticeship, yes please let me know

The apprenticeship isn’t optional, its part of the job unfortunately.

Every new HMRC employee has to do an apprenticeship! It is mandatory and you can’t opt out

Hi - Has anyone received an offer from Manchester, I received an email on 28th March to say I was on the reserve list but nothing since.

Hi Roomwithaview, I was put on the reserve list in late Match for a part-time Customer Service Consultant position in Glasgow. Unfortunately, like you, have heard nothing since.

Anyone heard anything about East Kilbride yet? Had some conflicting comments about start dates and some about there not being any room yet. I was interviewed end of February and put on the reserve list for twelve months. Hopefully not being forgotten about.

I interviewed in East Kilbride on 21st Feb. Got put on reserve list on 28th March. Got Provisional offer on 15th of May but not for the role I applied for. I applied for Customer Service Consultant but got offered a position in the Compliance team as there were no Customer Service positions available. I got 3 days to accept the offer without any job description. I accepted and then asked for job description which seems pretty good as it’s not on the phones.

I’ve sent the recruitment team an email asking how much longer it’s likely to take.
It’s my hen night next month and I wanted to know if I can go home for the week before or just the weekend before I book travel.
Also I need to start thinking about an Access to Work application and I need to have something in place by the time I’m starting as my only income is PIP and I’m going to struggle to pay the train fare every day if my taxis aren’t sorted in time.

Email today to say I’ve passed all of my checks so just waiting for a start date now!

I've just started this week and it's in the contract that if you start after the 15th of the month you can request a salary advance and you'll get £300 (full time) or £200 (part time) to see you through if that'd help with the fares

Yeah the people doing my induction aren't even from the same department so they have no clue haha, been told to wait until the right ppl come in to ask but not sure when that is cause it's just a bit all over the place as different people take us to teach us different things

The apprenticeship is 100% part of the training but they haven't asked for anything yet so hopefully 🤞

Now we've got our surface pros we have a lot of stuff to do so no more quizzes haha. I'm in benefits and credits. It's nice cause the group you induct with if it's anything like ours will only be like 8 people and you're all on the same thing so you get to know your immediate team straight away
