The Student Room Group

Halls at Imperial

ok, so i am a computer science prospect.

i don't wanna go to the weird halls (the quadrant place with the union bar - the place the tour guides took us on our interview day), but i don't want to spend to much time travelling to the college.
I want a place with a social common room, a place with table tennis facilities (although not vital), ps3/xbox360 (also not vital) and a karaoke machine (vital  )
anyone know a list of halls that facilitate these? and prices if possible? cheers

The "quadrant place with the union bar" is Beit Hall .

If you don't want to be far from college, you should try Prince's Gardens, a few minutes from college. There are currently two groups of halls in Prince's Gardens: Southside, and Garden & Weeks.

Southside is brand new, but pretty expensive. All three halls in Southside have a common room, but it's rather small. There's also a larger common room which is shared between the three halls.

Garden & Weeks has several common rooms, and a table tennis table. PS3/Xbox depends on what people bring to halls with them, but there is usually one of the two in the games room in the basement of Garden Hall. All Garden & Weeks facilities are shared between the two halls.

I don't know of any halls with a karaoke machine!!

Prices (for this year, next year will of course be more):

Garden:
Standard single room £124.46 per week (£4853.94 for 39 weeks)
Large single room £132.58 per week (£5170.62 for 39 weeks)
Small twin room £81.27 per week (£3169.53 for 39 weeks)
Standard twin room £86.73 per person per week (£3382.47 for 39 weeks)
Triple room £66.01 per person per week (£2574.39 for 39 weeks)

Weeks:
Single room £128.17 per week (£4998.63 for 39 weeks)

Southside:
Single en suite room £155.61 per week (£6068.79 for 39 weeks)
Twin en suite room £110.60 per person per week (£4313.40 for 39 weeks)

Is it better to be in a single room or in a twin room ?

Ca dépend entièrement de la personne. Certains préfèrent ne pas être seuls, et veulent donc partager une chambre; certains aiment avoir leur espace personnel... Evidemment financièrement une chambre double c'est mieux!

Short translation: it depends!
wow you study ee eng? Can i drop you a pm some time with some general questions?

Evelyn Gardens is 12-17 minutes walk (depends how fast you walk) from College. It's nearer to other things though -- e.g. Sainsbury's Local is about 1 minute away, likewise the Ferrari shop. It's probably about 1 minute nearer to an N14 bus stop.

I'm at Evelyn Gardens (Southwell), and when walking really fast, I've got to the College in 10 mins, but it usually takes about 15 mins, but the route to the College is beautiful, especially while walking on Queens Gate. Sainsburys local is about 30secs-1min away. Don't forget at Evelyn gardens we have the wonderful N14 bus stop (30secs away), this will get you to alot of places in London, most notably, Leicester square, where alot of the clubs are.

At a guess, a CD player with a microphone built in. You can get Karaoke CDs which don't have words to the songs (and generally don't have half the tune, in my experience). Maybe the machine shows the lyrics on a TV screen too.
