How much do uni's care about GCSE results?

My GCSE results were pretty good (all high grades except for 2 B's). The problem is I'm in year 12 and I'm taking an AS this year because I'm taking 4 a-levels; I've spent all my time revising the AS subject (bc I struggle with it), that I have spent no time on my other linear subjects (which I have internal exams in) - so I'm pretty sure this will result in very low predicted A-level grades. Is there any way that the uni's I apply to (Russel Group) will take into consideration my good GCSE grades, as it is proof that I am capable of achieving high results when it counts? If not, I think I'll just have to take a gap year and re-apply with my final A-level results (I really don't want to do this though).
your gcse's do matter- and if you have a problem with your predicted grades just talk to your teachers, but they will probably predict you higher than your internal exams since you still have a whole year to improve
