Making new friends in Belfast/Northern Ireland

Recently, I have felt very lonely and isolated. I never get invited anywhere, I’m constantly left on read, I actually have to ask to join in on events I see my ‘friends’ talking about on social media, I’m never anyone’s first choice and I rarely (if ever) get messaged first. I just want to make some new friends who actually want to spend time with me... is that too much to ask?

Honestly I feel the exact same. I'm just praying that when I go to university I will meet new people and make new friendships with more common interests. I am seriously glad my old friends are moving away (which sounds horrible) but they really were never good at social plans within our group, it was always external, without possibility of meeting these people or joining other groups.

I feel the same way!! I am doing a foundation degree atm and working a lot, everyone in my year at school is away to uni and I’m feeling pretty isolated! I plan on going to uni next year purely for the social aspect because God knows I need it 😂

Feel totally the same way. Most of my friends are settling down which makes them even more useless than they were when single, putting in the effort with friends is important but I’m the only one that does. I just want to have a bit of craic and a laugh
Literally same I totally get you and I’m from Northern Ireland! Lol

Well it looks like there’s 5 people here all the same lol even though some of the posts were 3 months ago. Who’s up for heading into Belfast for a drink and a bit of craic sometime?

As a student who studies abroad in NI, I can't help but express my relief at knowing there are other people out there like me. Some of the friends I have, I just always feel like our interactions are so superficial and fake. I don't know if it's the culture differences, or my year group in school. To anyone else who finds this thread, I'm always down for a new pal !
Anybody interested in drinking tonight?
