Physics Specimen Paper: tension

An object of mass 7.0kg is being pulled vertically upwards by a rope. The acceleration of the object is 2m/s^2. What is the tension in the rope?

Can some explain to me why the tension is ≆55N? I got ≆83N for an answer but the mark scheme says it's ≆55N and I just can't understand why. Here's how I worked it out:

F=ma
T=tension
T-Wg=ma
T-7g=7x2
T=14+7g
T=82.67

Thanks in advance for any help.
