Maths Mock Question Help

There is this one question i dont understand that was in my mock, can someone please explain it to me.

A cafe owner sells 10 different types of sandwich.
Rayheem buys a different type of sandwich on Monday, on Tuesday and on Wednesday.
In how many ways can he do this?

Thanks
So on Monday, he has 10 choices of sandwiches he can buy.

On Tuesday, he has to get a different sandwich than he did on Monday, so he only has 9 sandwiches to choose from (10 choices- 1 from Monday = 9)

On Wednesday, he has to get a different sandwich than he did on either Monday or Tuesday, so he has 8 choices.

To find the total number of combinations, you would multiply together 10, 9 and 8, to get 720.

Hope that helps you understand it!
