No I dont think so.

Instead lets say you were to be rejected from medicine this year (hopefully no tho  ) then what you could do if you wanted to reapply next year is do the MedSim in summer which will give you good experience and also be ready for 2006 entry.

I will just extend; basically medLINK is finding out about medicine and getting started on uni application by meeting medics, admissions tutors and picking up prospectuses! You should have a fairly good idea about medicine so I would not recommend you spending £200 on it at your stage.

Well, if you want to go, then do it. One of the guys I met there had already applied and still really enjoyed it although obviously a lot of the stuff about applications was irrelevant. He mentioned it on his UCAS form though, and he got 4 offers. Can't be bad for you, at least.

I m going to apply medicine this year ( applying at the moment~)
do you think if it worth to book a place for medlink this year in Dec?

depends why you want to go - i realise it's to help you with applications and suchlike but all my friends who went on it also had a really wicked time - made loads of friends (some of whom they're now at uni with) as well as getting soem good experience and giving them somethign to talk about in interviews!

Yep, if you want to then do it! People in my year applying for medicine have been told that it's fine.

First Garry Craven isn't a living legend he's just a con. And secondly who's to say he's a medical doctor? He isn't on the online GMC register as are all the other lecturers at medlink. So how does he really now what to say about medical admissions, or has someone told him what to say?

He's just a motivational speaker.

Maybe so, but he is VERY good at it. And if someones good at what they do... And I dont think you have to be a doctor to know about applying for medicine.
But to the original poster, no its probably not worth it if you have already applied to med school. The different talks about branches of medicine would be very itneresting, but probably not worth £200!
