Benzene has the molecular formula C6H6.
Originally, it was believed that the molecule is in a cyclic structure with pi bonds (double bonds) between carbons 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6. This is what is called the Kekle structure.
However, modern research has suggested that it is more likely that the electrons of the pi framework form a sort of electron cloud above and below the plane of the molecule. This is due to many factors, such as double bonds as described in the Kekle structure doesn't make sense thermodynamically. Therefore, it is more accurate to draw a benzene molecule with a circle within the cyclic structure, rather than double bonds on every other sigma bond (single bond).
Google for pictures of the structure to see both the Kekle and the more recent structure.
Hope that clarifies abit, good luck with your studies

.bond angle of 120 degrees around each carbon atom.
overlap of adjacent p-orbitals forming a pi system above and below the plane of the ring.
planar molecule.
electrons delocalised around the ring.
bond lengths are equal

Have you tried wikipedia? It's usually good as the first place to check.
