Computer Science isn't as popular as it should be. It does however mean that we can get into much better universities than we expected to

Yes, it's very undersubscribed at the moment.
Definitely under subscribed.

Go for Bristol. I'm actually surprised Bristol comp sci is in Extra, being 3rd in the country and one of the most popular unis in the country and all that.

I'm also suprised due to Imperial's and Cambrigde's being there. In particular by Imperial, which CAN give out more offers (actually me and my friend are waiting for its decision, so it looks very bad for us ).

I was under the impression that computer science is one of the most if not most popular field of science AND engineering currently being applied to :s-smilie:? Christ, I wish I could find those statistics again.

Huh? No way. Not today.

It seems to have a little sine-wave of popularity. It gets really popular...then dies down...then gets really popular again...then dies down.

Right now, we're on a decline.
It seems it is. If I was any good at maths i would have applied. :P

I know it's been a while, but how popular would you say it is right now, and the chances of halfway-decent universities showing up in Extra and/or Clearing?
Depends on what you call half way decent. Last year the majority of RG members werent in extra but most others were. Nobody can tell for definite what will be available as it can vary each year.
