In an essay with the title above- I'm writing about the 'Transport across membranes' part of the specification but struggling to make a direct link back to the question- it sounds like the easiest bit to write about but I feel my answer is too generic and I need an example?

What would you say for why a partially permeable membrane is important?
I've said that only certain molecles are able to enter and leave a cell which is important in the cell being specialised and having a certain role.. but I don't know how to make this paragraph have more actual knowledge in it

If anyone could help me expand on this or provide an example of a cell that has only specific things moving in and out and how that links to its function, I'd be super grateful Thanks!

How about saying that it is important for :
exocytosis / endocytosis
important for vesicles, which transport thing around in the cell
osmosis
active transport facilitated diffusion
