R = x2^/y

x = 3.8 x 10 5^
y = 5.9 x 10 4^

work out the valu of R.

give the answer in standard from to an approptiate degree of accuracy.

I know how to do standard form but i can't do this question. Please Help!
What are you struggling with? Put it into a calculator then quote the answer to 2 significant figures in standard form.

I tried another similar one on MathsWatch and, despite the correct answer, didn't satisfy MathsWatch! Will try to investigate this later, when I get a moment.....

LOL! Working out! Reckon you just typed it into a calculator and then rounded it! Very difficult to get the precise answer that MathsWatch thinks is right, with these!
