BAE Systems Project Control

Hi,

I applied for a BAE Systems foundation project control scheme and have an interview in March - wondering if I should take it or not? I'd get a salary and a degree over 5 years, but it's based up in Warton by Preston/Blackpool. I have applied in addition to doing UCAS (so far Durham is my favourite), so I'm really stuck between the two...

Remembering that it's about 5 hours away from where I live, should I at least go for the interview to see what it's like? I know no-one who's currently on the scheme, and no-one who works for BAE!

Go for the interview, it is always a good experience especially with a global company like BAE Systems. They are based in other areas as well such as Rochester by the way.

However, I'd go for the UCAS degree it keeps your doors open. Plus you want the student experience.

Go for the BAE interview and ask if they'll give you a summer placement or a place on their Graduate Development Framework.

I turned them down. I probably should have went for the interview, but oh well. I wasn't very impressed with their application process either (it was partly outsourced).

My interview is tomorrow. Know some people on the scheme from the intake this year who I went to 6th Form with and they speak highly of it.

Good luck all

I think I'm ready. I've been doing bits of prep ever since I found out and from talking to people on the scheme, I have family at BAE as well so they have been able to help bring me up to date on current issues surrounding BAE (SFO reports etc).

Had mine today. Was happy with the way it went, I said everything I wanted to and more. Did most of the talking which is a good thing but as with most things its hard to gauge exactly just how its gone until I find out the result.

They'll continue the scheme, its been a success and the first people are only just finishing off the scheme (only been running 4 years, so no-one actually has the degree yet) but the numbers fluctuate.
