Also it's mostly to do with societal representations of both I think. In media lesbians are specifically portrayed as sexy most of the time while gay men are generally portrayed as very extremely feminine or in some way which is derogative (even if it's not intended to be). The TV show Blue Mountain State comes to mind for some reason :laugh:

That and huurrrrrr muh masculinity men can't get with men in my TV show.

I'm sure there's a number of women out there that enjoy it, mind you.
