Bad english GCSE grade?!

Im in year 12 doing my AS exams, i am predicted ABB, however im pretty sure i will get AAB, which will predict me A*A*A. With these predicted grades I meet the minimum for pretty much every university. However i only started putting work in this year so my GCSEs are fairly bad. However the only one that is a problem is english language which is a 4 (low C). I want to do physics so the english qualification isnt exactly going to help me, but people with english as their second language do better than me. I can speak the english language better than most people but the english language GCSE is just total bs. I dont want to retake my English language as i wont have time for applying to unis, which english qualifications could i take to make it known that i can speak more than 3 words in english? Any help would be hugely appreciated.
