How far is Nottingham uni from the city centre?

Distance and walking time? I heard that the campus was quite far.

I'll be on whatever bit they teach english and phil. on, if it matters...

It is quite far, takes about 15 - 20 mins in a bus (depending on traffic). Walking I've no idea, buses are cheap and frequent so I use them if I have to go into town.

OT topic, but ahh im so jealous that you're on the eng/phil courses! ive got an offer 4 eng single honours & they're not letting me switch 2 the joint course :mad:

Why won't they let you switch? And is it just Nottingham that you want to do eng/phil at, or everywhere?

coz they're saying there are no spaces left and that its unlikely any will become available. might risk accepting and begging 2 change once im there lol. all the modules sound wicked;love that it focuses on the analytical side of philosophy!

don't really have much choice anyway, every other uni i liked rejected me :frown:

Miles. It's not even close to Nottingham, it's actually nearer Loughborough. But they've got a Uni of their own already.

Nah, Bristol will be my firm, and Nottingham is only really going down as insurance because it's my only ABB offer, though I don't like the idea of being out of a city. I want, really, to be smack-bang in the middle of one.

Miles. It's not even close to Nottingham, it's actually nearer Loughborough. But they've got a Uni of their own already.

Rubbish. It's about a mile or a mile and a half from the city centre, probably 35-40 minutes' walk, or 10-15 minutes on a bus.

Sutton Bonington Campus, on the other hand, is 11 or 12 miles away and quite close to Loughborough, but that's only for students doing agricultural-related degrees.

From campus it's 10 mins on the bus which are very frequent. Or worth getting a taxi if there are 3 or more of you. You can walk it in 30 minutes from the side of campus which is closer to town. It's close enough to go out, go shopping etc whenever you want but far enough away that you get grass and trees on campus!
