Just wondering about this neutralpos rep. how is it decided what type of pos rep repping will give. And does it add to rep points?

Neutral rep doesn't change your points total.
You give out neutral rep if you have less than 110 rep points and 150 posts, cause those are the minimum limits in the rep algorithim. If you meet both those requirements then you give out rep that will affect peoples rep totals

neutralpos is simply the image name for a positive rep which carries no value. its negative counterpart is still a neg it just carries no strength.
the algorhythm that calculates how much rep is worth can be found; http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/faq....=rep#faq_power

and if youre really lucky you might see someone with a rep total of exactly zero, then they will have a grey square in their post bit. some old reps with no value will also show up like this in your home

... if you're not really lucky, there's always the member list, of course: link #1, link #2.

Looks like too many people have been repping today, then. When I posted it, there was one user with a grey gem and three users with a rep disability at the bottom of that page...

more likely too many people signing up to the site. For every person that signs up, the neutral pos people will go down by 1 position since you start with 100 points.

Ah, yes, that sounds like a more likely explanation... Oh well. At any rate it isn't terribly hard to find the users with grey gems if you have a quick look through the member list.
