2018 language gcse's stress questions

Now I took my language GCSE'S last year but they weren't good enough so I have to do them again this year in year 11. I want to impress the examiner but I don't know how, do I use fancy vocabulary or are there other things examiners look out for?

Tenses and structures: in French, use things like après avoir and viens de + Infinitive. Then there are things like the pluperfect, subjunctive and conditional that they love so squeeze as many as you can into your writing/speaking as possible.
Good luck!
