Ventilation rate of a locustWatch
Yesterday, we had our edexcel IAL unit 6 exam. There was a question that asked us to measure the ventilation rate of a locust at two different temperatures. I have now searched online and found that this is done by counting how many contractions of the abdomen of the locust that you observe in a minute. It was mentioned in the heading of the question that its abdomen does actually rise and fall to consume oxygen. To measure the rate of ventilation, I used the idea of respirometer. Do you think using a respirometer works too?
