Phd

Does anyone know of someone who's done/doing a PhD with a 2.2 at undergraduate and a pass at masters?

I'm in that position (although I might scape a merit) and have applied to one advertised PhD. Am currently also trying to write up a PhD proposal.

Thanks guys.

No - I know a couple with 2:1s (they also got distinctions at masters level) but they are a relative rarity, the rest of us in my dept have firsts at undergrad and distinctions at masters.

I hasten to add that this is not to say that it is impossible!
Thanks, do you have any tips for a PhD proposal?

I know of one person. He applied for a full-scholarship which included a set proposal and received it.

Getting funding will be tough, next to impossible if you are writing your own proposal. But scholarships with set proposals will probably be a bit easier (depending on the competition).

Regarding simply getting accepted onto a PhD programme, this is possible. You need good references and a good proposal first.
