SPSS - Mulit-Choice quiz converting/recoding answers Watch

I have decided to use SPSS after having a quick tour from a friend to produce stats for the results of one of my surveys.

Its a multichoice survey, 5 choices available.

I've set up some dummy data in SPSS to use for demonstrations purposes :-

Firstly I m not sure if the arrangement is correct to enable me to compare the students answers in columns (Q1-Q5) to the last row the actual ANSWERS.

I want to somehow recode them to 0,1 (Correct/Incorrect).

Can anyone help assist in suggesting the way forward?

Also as Im using the last row for the answers therefore not a real student result is it ok to leave the category blank? Is there a better way to arrange my data?

I want the category variable to allow me to identify which categories students score highest/lowest in.

Hope this makes sense.

I'm also still searching the web and finding out more about SPSS, to get me up to speed.
