Hi there,

I'm sure there's been a million and one threads like this posted before, so I'm sorry to add to the list of duplicates, but I can't seem to find any from recently.

I'm in year twelve and am predicted AAA (currently) at A2 in psychology, sociology and English literature. I am very passionate about psychology and it's what I wish to study at university and the stage of open days etc is fast approaching, however I'm really stuck for choice. Lots of people have said to look at the third year modules for different universities as they say this is where things will vary between unis, but there are so many to look at that I'm finding it hard to sift through them all. I'm mostly interested in psychopathology, clinical psychology and the mental health aspect of things, so any universities that offer this would be a real bonus - so far I've only found RHUL who offer a degree under the umbrella of BSc psychology that specialises in clinical psychology.

Essentially, any previous AAA/AAB(ish) students that are currently studying psychology that attend universities that offer either a specialised degree or just modules like the topics I've mentioned or anyone that has any knowledge of different universities that offer this - I'd love your help please! Just as a side note, I'm only really interested in universities in the south/south east, although there is potentially scope for attending a university further afield.

TL;DR: what unis offer psychology with clinical psychology/MH/psychopathology third year modules or specialised degrees altogether?

Thanks so much in advance for your help

Modules can change from year to year, so what one uni offers this year they may not offer when you go to uni. Honestly, the best thing to do is just sift through all the unis. I was interested in psychology at uni, so I just went on the league tables and clicked on every single uni that was there and made a note of the ones I liked, and then picked my favourites from them to visit at open days. October 2016 I spent every weekend travelling to a different part of the country on open days.

It takes time but honestly that's the only way you'll find a uni you actually really like, and it's worth the effort to avoid going to a uni you don't really like, when there could be a perfect uni out there for you just a few clicks away. Dedicate one afternoon to doing it and get it out of the way, and you'll feel so much better.
