A bowl contains six chocolates: three milk chocolates and three plain chocolates.
A second bowl contains two milk chocolates and one plain chocolate.
Two chocolates are chosen at random from the first bowl and transferred to the second bowl.
A chocolate is then chosen at random from the second bowl.

Find the probability that the chocolate chosen from the second bowl is a plain
chocolate???

Can you construct a tree diagram to solve the problem? You need branches for 1st and 2nd selections from bowl 1, then further branches for selecting from bowl 2.

For the first bowl:

The probability of taking a milk chocolate is 3/6.
The probability of taking a plain chocolate is 3/6.

For the second bowl:

The probability of taking a milk chocolate is 2/3.
The probability of taking a plain chocolate is 1/3.

When taking the first chocolate from the first bowl:

1) The probability you take 2 milks is 3/6 x 2/5 = 0.2
2) The probability you take 1 milk then 1 plain is 3/6 x 3/5 = 0.3
3) The probability you take 1 plain then 1 milk is the same, 0.3
4) The probability you take 2 plains is 0.2

You can work the rest out from there, am unsure myself as to how to get to one answer.

If you transfer 2 milks into bowl 2 then it has a total of 4 milks and 1 plain... so the probability of selecting a plain from bowl 2 is: 3/6 x 2/5 x 1/5
Consider the 3 other cases then sum them.
