How long school is

If your school is 8:40 to 3:15, it would be like 7 hours since
9,10,11,12,13 (1),14 (2). = 6 hours
then since the 8 isn't fully 8, it would be a half
same with 3
then 2 halves together is whole = add 1 hour = 7 hours.
pretty logical explanation.
