egg question

so, the question about how the calcium ions got into the cytoplasm?
people keep saying osmosis, but osmosis is only the movement of water so it cant be.
also people keep saying active transport, but where does the energy come from if the egg is dead? you need mitochondria and carrier proteins and that for active transport. even tho the table said there were more Ca+ in the cytoplasm, my guess is that the table shows the concentration after what ever process has happened.
So the last thing it could be is diffusion? it makes sense to me but i was the only person in my class who put this. thoughts?
