I was really suprised when there was a 12 mark essay question in there, but it was a good test.

For question 15 (the last question) regarding how to prevent malware from AQATravel i talked about:
Using anti virus software
Educate employees about social engineering --> leading to malware like phishing
Update software like OS regularly as it fixes any security vulnerabilities
Network security within the company like firewall and MAC address Filtering.

I was little a surprised on 12-Marker as i thought maximum you could get was 10. Also i left out the 4 marker on how HDDs work as i didn't think it would come up as it was on the specimen paper and we hadn't learnt it beforehand.

I hope i got a grade 9 overall!

I think the paper was way too easy. The grade boundaries will be pretty high. I had enough time to look through every question I definitely knew I git right without the mark scheme leaving out questions that should be right but I don't know if I would get the marks for and it came out at around 66/80. The other paper was reasonably difficult though so they will have to balance the grade boundaries just right.

I’m hoping for a 7 I reckon I got(roughly) 55/80 in paper 1 and 65-70/80 in paper 2

Why were you expecting it unless it was a total guess? The biggest question in the specimen paper was 9 marks.

I mean, it didn’t surprise me. Just because a 12 marker didn’t come up in the specimen doesn’t rule out the possibility of it being in the real thing...

For the colour depth question, did you get 4 or 256 or what? I got 256 but my teachers and classmates got 4

256 pretty sure it was asking about file size

It was asking for the colour depth of a 16 colour pixel so it was definitely 4 bits.

I remember it saying ‘calculate’ and so if it was 4, saying ‘2^ 4 = 16 so it’s 4’ doesn’t really sound like you’re calculating the answer because the answer isn’t 16, and if you said ‘square root of 16 = 4’ that wouldn’t be valid for all other powers of 2 e.g 32.

Calculate colour dept of a 16 colour pixel: 2^4 = 16, so answer was 4 bits?
