Ok, I retook my ELIT1 english paper from WJEC in January, and got an A in it this time round (yay), 73 marks out of 90. Thats put my overall grade up to a C, but its only 2 marks of a B. So: is it worth me getting it remarked? I dont know the likelihood of it going up...so i donno...

Is it like resits, and if you dont do as well with the remark, you keep the higher grade? Or do you like..give up this mark by having it remarked, for better or worse? *doesnt know all the facts*

I dont know if i want to put money out for the remark, unless i'm sure itll go up, when just trying to simply gain those 2 marks on my A2 might be easier....

    What do y'all think?

I think i'd just put more effort in on your remaining A2 exams. I pretty sure that if its remarked and comes back lower you get the lower grade. It has its benefits to many people, but when you already recieved a grade A, I don't think its worth the risk of it possibly going down!

When a paper's remarked it WILL get the new mark. It's not like retaking a module where you can choose the higher mark. If you feel you deserve that grade or it's better than you expected, I WOULDN'T get it remarked.

Unfortunately if you get it remarked then yes you will have to forfeit your current mark. I wouldn't bother doing it to be honest. It's £40 with the welsh board for a remark and you have to ask yourself if it's really worth it just for the sake of 2 marks. Besides those 2 marks might not make a difference to your overall grade.

Well in one of my January modules, it came back with a U in one examine. Both me and my teacher queried this as I was getting B's in homework and mocks. Sent in for a remark and it went up 17 marks to a C. Still resitting the module again anyway but this just proves the examiners cant mark papers to save their lives! Either that or they really like me!

I'm not sure, but my teacher advised me not to get one of my papers remarked, as the mark could go down. I guess that means they must take whatever mark it is afterwards ;s

I would just recommend working your ass off at A2
