Hi, I live in the UK and I am starting university in September and I still haven't applied for a student loan.

When applying for a student loan it asks for my National Insurance Number and when I click on the another method button it asks for a bank account. I don't have either of those.

My problem is that the deadline is on the 25th and the letter that comes with my National Insurance Number only arrives in 10-15 working days from now. What can I do?

I am stressing pretty badly because of this situation

Thanks

The deadline is for student finance to guarentee that they will process your application on time. You can apply later however you might not get your money on time. Regarding your bank account, whilst I believe you can apply without bank details, you will need your own bank account to recieve student finance.

Hi

I would recommend starting your own thread not open one that is 5 months old.

Are you a European student or are you applying for Student Finance England funding?
European students don't need a national insurance number to get funding but it is beneficial to have one for when you graduate so the repayments can come out of your pay if you choose to work in the UK.

Student Finance England students can apply without a national insurance number, once your application is approved you will be sent a letter to attend an interview at your local jobcentre to obtain a national insurance number
