Sociology gcse toA level Watch

Hi, is it true the jump between sociology gcse and a level isn’t that big? Is first year like gcse?

yeah i have to say that was mostly true in my experience.
i did ocr sociology at gcse and a level. i also did RE and English at a level and sociology was the ‘smallest jump’ out of them 3 subjects.

they always said to us that having taken sociology at gcse won’t necessarily benefit you at a level (but i think they said that to stop people being put off if they didn’t take it at gcse)

but i found there was a huge overlap from gcse and a level. you obviously use functionalism and marxism and postmodernism etc. again.
a lot of the same cases can be used and key thinkers etc.
