probably a good sign.... or your dept is slow?

I hope its a good sign  I haven't recieved any special post or anything!

Except the other day I got a letter and I looked through the little clear window on the envelope and read

"I am pleased to inform you that you have been awarded.."

Then I was like  , but when I opened it, it was just junkmail from Littlewoods :frown:

MAN I HATE THAT!
When you get the first bit of post in forever and the envelope looks all important.. and it just turns out to be junk mail.
The other day I got one telling me I should have a hospital scan or I am at risk of a stroke at my old age. [Clearly some company has me down as being 85.]

I got an email ad suggesting I should consider going to Lincoln university :indiff: Maybe Kent are trying to suggest something :hmmmm2:

Also it's been three weeks, and the results from my multiple choice exam still haven't shown up
Junk mail is awful, though sometimes it's hilariously bad.

Not sure I'd personally have much use for it.....

Hey all, I'm a newcomer to this thread. Just spent the last while flicking through the posts to get an idea of whats going on  (apparently I have nothing productive to do on my day off)

I'm planning on starting Kent uni this September to do English Literature & Drama. I'm 20 years old, and for the last two years (ish) I've been living in America. I work for a dance company which provides a show for the two Busch Gardens theme parks on the East Coast. I love my job, though it's not as glamourous as perhaps it sounds

I'm kinda looking forward to starting uni now, although I'm really sad to leave my job, but I'll be coming back to work every now & again when I have time off uni.

I've applied for self-catering accomodation (Tyler I think), I could not bear even the thought of living in catered accomodation. I saw one a couple of years ago at an open day and it was not a pleasent sight.

I think perhaps I'll miss getting paid the most....! I've grown very much accustomed to living on a fairly decent wage... so I don't know how I'll cope on a student budget to be quite honest. It should be pretty funny [to observe].

Looking forward to chatting with all of you
^ Hey, welcome. Can't wait to meet you all in September!

PS. Won't be posting much in the next few days. I'm homeless at the moment because of what happened (psycho breaking in and attacking me.) So until I get my new flat sorted out, I obviously wont be online much!

PPS. STILL haven't heard back from the scholarship people! Might have to swing by my old house and check my post for anything.

Ah I'm alright, im just swapping between peoples houses until I have a flat sorted, but all my injuries have almost recovered! Thanks for the concern!

Oh and I've heard back about scholarships. Apparently I'm the reserve choice for the Psych scholarship, if the first choice hasn't firmed Kent then I get it! So fingers crossed; I really need that money to fund my placement year.

Oooh well done! Thats really good! Plus you need to get 280 points for the scholarship dont you.. so maybe the person they picked wont actually get it!
Glad to hear your better =]
And yeahh.. I play a bit of poker! Im no expert or anything, and too scared to play big money in serious games.. but Im not bad!

That's great news!

It just goes to show that it's worth attempting to gain a scholarship.

That's a £1000 extra that can be spent wisely...or not.
