that's what i thought :/

B was 90 becuase the whole line had moved upwards by 1, so although when it crossed the x axis it was 60 out, when it crossed the line y=1 it was 90 out

question 2 it asked for the number of adults, can't remember my exact answer but i think it was not 510
Original post by hanlanglois17
why was b=90 when the line had moved along two?

Could you explain by a was 2? Couldn’t figure that part out but got the other two, thank you!

The wave had been stretched by a scale factor of two

Normal sin(x) spans from 1 to -1, 2sin(x) spans from -2 to 2. It was then just moved up 1 space so it spanned from -1 to 3

3/5 were children, 2/5 were adults
children to adults = 3:2 = 9:6
girls to boys were 2:7
2+7 = 9 so girls:boys:adults was 2:7:6
170 girls /2 = 85
85*6 = 510 adults

no only greater than as sqrt(19-19) = 0, which is possible.

What was the answer to the interest question?

the boat depreciating in value over 3 years was 160000*(0.96)^3 = 141,558 ( to the nearest HKD)

the pay rise was 252000/1.05 = 240000
What did people get for the perimeter question? The triangles

110
Do you guys have any ideas of what the grade boundaries will be for this paper?

Ah perfect thank you, I just couldn’t work out the relationship between the two graphs!

Question on film - No to 35% as only 24 films were more than 120 minutes long

ABE was straight line AE was 30x AB with common point A

Perimeter of shape was 110

Original salary was 240,000 HKS

Venn diagram last question was correct as A and C had no common member

common denominator q was 7-3x/2(x+3)(x-5) [just remember the top part for sure, bottom could be -/+ the other way round)

the first one is wrong, the answer was yes, because 37.5% of the films were more than 120 mins long because u have to use the cumulative frequency graph to show u
No just greater than becuase you are able to square root 0

I got 1.5x + 1y = 43 for 20 do you think I'll still get the marks?

well the question did say "so that a b and c are integers", so idk

No I’m pretty sure they’re right because I went to whatever percentage it was on the graph and it was like 107 minutes or something like that which was defineltly less than 120 minutes. Therefore it must have been wrong.
