...'The people that don't want vote/don't know who to vote for and would rather watch the UEFA cup instead'

I don't disrespect voting or the things that people have done to make sure people can vote. I'd fight for someones right to vote, but also their right not to vote.

I'm gonna vote for Brian Paddick to be mayor (won't happen ), and the Lib Dems and Greens for the GLA seats.

The thing is, politics interferes in everything. You can't be interested in something which doesn't have any political influence in it. For example, sport (a topic you're obviously very interested in ) - take the olympics. Had the UN security council (or just the US/UK) decided to boycott the Bejing olympics following the Burma crisis, the olympics in Bejing would pretty much not happen. Politics is also used to appease situations and can use sport to do so, e.g. WW1 and the Apartheid.

Politics changes everything. People might think it doesn't affect them but that's simply not true. Everything boils down to politics - the economy, foreign relations, domestic affairs - more every-day type things are things like bus fares, the tax you pay, the university tuition fees, the VAT you pay on anything you buy etc.
