Anyone wondering what question is most likely to come up? Well I have answers XD cause u can chose from two different question, it’s most likely to be about a character or a theme. My English teacher is an examiner (grades the papers) she says she’s putting her money on the theme being about violence. I have a few tips for those in foundation and higher, try to include one of the motifs in whatever blood brothers question you chose. The motifs include: Guns, Marylin Monroe, Dancing and superstions. If it is indeed violence then go with the guns. If you want to know some key quotes and context for this theme then just leave a reply x
Good luck everyone.

Quotes about violence?
This is the mind map we made in class today:
1.) motifs-guns= escalates from toy gun to air rifle to shotgun. —> lower classes to violence and antisocial behaviour——-through violent incident we see reaction from the police [“listen love”/“sir”]—pronouns

2.) Sammy—robs the bus conductor—-“living on the doble/the never never” repetition= cycle of debt
I just thought to add this one on, mrs Johnstone uses the positive adjective “bright new day” when talking about no reputation following her. Yet she’s taking sammy with her, the one that always causes trouble, so she really isn’t escaping her reputation.

3.) Kids Game——> foreshadowing “I got ya, I shot ya” ==> “you shot him!”—->poverty—-spirals into depression—> living on the “giro” —-jealousy

4.) Metaphor “lamps in spring” —-> the boys are destined to meet a bloody end——> symbolises/foreshadows mickey and eddies death.
5.) Mrs Lyons slaps Edward—-> fear of the past catching up to her ==> escalates to threatening Mrs Johnstone with a knife —- deal with the devil —> destined to catch up with them==> prepositions Chang’s “behind” “beside” “inside”
