Off milk-does it make you ill?

Just realised (when Im almost finished) that my milk had gone off a bit. Tasted the same but looked different (sorry) with watery with bits in it.
Am I going to die?
Am I going to get diarrhoea or anything?
What should I do?
Should I drink loads of water?
How long will it take for me to feel the effects?
I have a test today, don't want to feel really ill during it. Counts towards my uni coursework marks :frown:

from my experience of drinking off milk, you throw up straight away...but that was off off milk...i go off the smell, smells okay = drink okay.

i don't reckon you'll die

You'll die. It happened to me, and now I'm back to save the world from drinking gone off milk.

Actually, that's just a dream I had, but you will likely get a upset stomach a few hours after (it was the day after with me).

The milk didn't smell. I wouldn't be able to tell anyway because it was quite a small amount. I never have much milk because I'm a bit lactose intolerant. I put a tiny bit on my tea and some in my breakfast.
Was from one of the tiny milk cartons. and was just about an eighth of that.

you'll throw up in 30 mins time more than likely.

Prepare yourself for 3 days of violent gastroenteritis...

Srsly though, surely you should know that milk shouldn't have lumps of whey swimming around in it when its fresh?

Yeah but I poured it into my cereal and it disppeared before I could see what it looked like. It didn't fall in chunks or anything. Reacted like normal milk, so I didn't thing anything of it. Pouring it into my tea I didn't see anything.
Went to smell the carton. It does smell a little. I have a poor sense of smell anyway but I think I didn't notice because it was such a small amount.
It was meant to go off in 3 days so I didn't smell it. It was perfectly fine yesterday which is also why I didn't smell it.

Think it would only be obvious with a larger quantity of milk. In the carton it looks normal.

I hate throwing up. Only thrown up once when I had a bug a couple years ago. Was quite scary. Felt like I was possessed.
Just gunna keep drinking things.

I think you will be alright. You are not going to die, and if you haven't been sick as of yet, you probably won't.

I had a boiled egg once that was 3 weeks old. Without noticing! And I didn't die!
I think... :ninja:

I doubt you will be ill... you might tho from ll the worrying over nothing! gee Ive eaten a bowl of cereal with gone off milk in, I then poured it in my tea and there were the lumps, that usually means its turning. DONT WORRY!

If you sniff it and it doesn't smell really, really horrendous then you're fine, it's not properly off yet. You can tell when it's off and even then a tiny amount probably wouldn't do much!

Good luck with the test

Didnt die (obviously) had an upset stomach for a while
It's generally absolutely fine. I quite often find myself drinking small quantities of slightly off milk and there's no comeback. Think about the days before people had fridges!
Milk is basically fat and water.....if you leave it over time it turns to...well fat and water (separately). If it still doesn't smell really bad then it's okay. Consider it yogurt. Yogurt is gone off milk (correctly treated), and Cheese is even more gone = =.
youll be ok

Yes
Possibly

(in that order)

I think that it'd be unpalatable well before it got dangerous. If you managed to eat it on your cereal then I'm sure it's fine.

Flippin eurgh!
My test went well (ish, I think) and I haven't been sick yet. That's all that matters.
