As opposed to Argentina which is a nation made up of European colonisers that massacred the native population? Before "Christina Hernandez" (a white European who speaks Spanish) turns this into a bizzare anti-colonial issue, she might want to explain why invading the Falklands and annexing the island into Argentina against the resident's wishes is anything but colonialism? The mainly Welsh and Scottish settlers were not "put there" they settled an uninhabited island - I see no reason to not respect their wishes.
Unfortunately many of the residents of Argentina are from european decent and there is no way to change that now. But as the Malvinas are south American and the closest south American country to them that makes them there's.

No it doesn't. This is a ludicrous position that makes absolutely no sense. Interestingly, if we applied it's logic universally that would give the UK gorunds to invade the Faroe Islands. You cannot just claim land in this manner, the self-determination of the Falkland people comes first - the Falklanders settled an uninhabited island (unlike the Argentines who massacred the native inhabitants) and have the right (as does Argentina) to decide it's own future and political orientation - there is no logical reason why Argentina can invade and claim the territory.

My full support is with Argentina. The people on the Islas Malvinas may want to be British but they were put there by the Brits which defeats the legitamacy of that claim.
If this is the official view of the Socialist Party then you have definitely lost my vote

I'm not socialist party, I hadn't read the op. Just decided to answer his question as I'm a socialist and it didn't look like anyone else would answer.

well, unless this is actually only an after echo of concious mind and my body has actually been destroyed so I am existing only as energy in an illusion of having a body still...then I am still alive!

several members/MP's posted of late in the chat thread so I generally take that to mean that they too are alive, or we could all be after echo's...

Are there any other socialists advocating the use of a market to allocate goods and services in a socialist economy rather than central or decentralized planning, as suggested by David Schweickart?

It would be a sad day if the Socialist party got deleted for inactivity As it has historically been one of the most active parties in the HoC.

Then it's up to its members to kick-start activity again.

Why have you not being proposing bills?

How many of your MPs are even turning out to vote?

In short, yes. The issue of economic democracy is quite an interesting one and has been advocated in the past.

Firstly - I think that's a bit unfair. We've been active in our-subforum despite not submitting anything this term. University commitments, rather than incompetence is a key reason for inactivity, which has been an HoC-wide problem.

Secondly - Ideological representation, rather than power as you've incessantly advocated in the past, as always been placed first. I mean it is nice when we do well in an election but at the same time we wouldn't advocate catch-all policies like Labour in order to win an election.

Well we run a commissar system. I am the current C1 and Abiraleft is the Deputy - We're in charge of Administration issues etc.

The C2 is badger-man - badger deals with Bills (incl grammar and submitting it to the speaker)
We used to have a C3 that watches our MPs and guide/advices etc. But our party activity has dropped so very low for a while now.

We have a lot of Bills that have been rough-drafted and a few that are totally done, but because of inactivity, we haven't had time to submit any this term.

I think at least 3-4 vote each time...
