I missed your question, sorry. Been quite busy these last few days.

Personally, I'm in the anarchist branch of the party (anarcho-syndicalism, libertarian socialism, whatever people label me nowadays).

I reject the planned economy entirely and am firmly in favour of workers self-management. For me, the bureaucracy of the state is as bad as the private control of enterprises by profit seeking individuals. It's hardly surprising my big area of interest is Tito's Yugoslavia.
Fascinating.. I am from the FR Yugoslavia myself

You say 'profit seeking individuals' as though they are evil. Hahaha. Do you own any/or enjoy nice things? e.g. phones, laptop that your using now. Well if you think any of that would exist without the profit incentive then you are mad.

And do you know the best part about a capitalist economy? Anyone can make the most of it. These idiots that think rich people are an evil cult make me laugh. There is no one stopping them giving it their best shot to make money.

In a socialist economy everyone is equal, but everyone is equally poor.

Nice quote from Thatcher there!

To add onto this, what incentive is there for workers in a purely socialist economy to increase already declining productivity figures, given that we are behind the USA and Germany by some distance?

The only incentive in a socialist economy is the threat of punishment. Negative, negative, negative.

Humans are inherently selfish: the hard work of an individual leading to negligible benefits for the collective leads to apathy with their work.

What socialists don't understand is that their idealistic view of a utopian Brokeback Mountain just won't work in practice. Ideology only takes you so far before you need to be pragmatic.

What type of socialism is that? Are you thinking of old Soviet 'communism'? Its about limiting the insane profit incentive not stopping it.

Through struggle, namely industrial action (strikes and occupations) and persistent lobbying of the government. Trade unionists, workers and socialists have brought you:>Human rights;
>Public services;
>Free education;
>The right to love without persecution;
>The right to vote;
>Reproductive rights;
>Out of work benefits;
>Disability benefits;
>The NHS;
>A national minimum wage;
>The abolition of child labour;
>Improved worker safety;
>Improving living standards by reducing the number of hours in the working week and encouraging a healthy work/life balance;
>Parental leave;
>Equality legislation;
>Better protection of migrant workers and a reduction in exploitation;
>Minimum holiday and sickness entitlements.

And much much more. Socialists realise capitalism WAS a big step forward in our human development. However; every system runs it's course as society progresses. We now have a big, strong working class. We can do an awful lot more if we recognise our power and that WE are the ones being held to ransom by a corrupt, failing capitalist system. So if you like the gains won by your fellow working man, maybe it's time to stop supporting the oppressors and join the socialists.

It's almost like Karl Lucifer Mars wasn't one of the one if the first people to recognise the productive ability of capitalism and it's necessity in human development.

Marx was essentially two things. We was the creator of of dialectical-materialism, which is in very, very simple terms is his theory of history. And Marx's socialism, which was almost exclusively a critique on capitalism, and one of, if not the best critiques that there has ever been.

Him and Jesus Christ are probably on par: "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
