GCSE AQA Chemistry Paper 2 Predictions and exam discussion - 13th June 2018 9-1

These are the topics that are in paper 2 - Which ones do you think will appear the most / What questions are likely to come up?

6. The rate and extent of chemical change
7. Organic chemistry
8. Chemical analysis
9. Chemistry of the atmosphere
10. Using resources

I think this is what will come up:

•

Practicals – Rates of reaction, Chromotography

•

Maths (Gradient of graph, surface area, volume, percentage etc)

•

Melting / Boiling Points

•

Life Cycle Assessment

•

Atmospheres & Evolution

•

Fractional Distillation, Combustion

•

Testing - for gases, flame tests, ions etc

•

Organic Chemistry (Alkanes, Alkenes, Carboxylic acid, Alcohol)

•

Monomers & Polymers

I think they’ll put lots of rates of reactions and chemical analysis such as tests for anions and cations on the paper to trip people up because in my opinion paper 2 chem is much easier than paper 2 of the other science.

What sort of questions will this be? Can you give me an example question, im not too sure which ones you mean. Thanks

I think deffo polymers will come up like thermosetting polymers and the ceramics, composites and glass topic cos that didnt come up in the mock

Um, something like testing for halides or dilute acids and having to find what the colour the precipitate would turn. It links to the unit 8 core practical . For rates, I believe there will be a question linking to la chateliers principle with the equilibrium because this is Grade 8-9 difficulty
what practicals will most likely come up or do you think all of them might appear?
also any one got any predictions for the 6 marker?
anyone thought paper 1 was hard?

Anyone got the chemistry paper 2 mock paper?
Predicted questions:

Cow milk (lots of it)
How to make your own required practical on sewage waste.
Why a farmer needs NPK fertiliser to make more food.
Probably some biology topics (watch out!)
How to fart and then reverse the reaction.
Then, analyse how reversing the reaction will help the environment.
The rest will probably not be on the specification. Good luck!

Paper 1 was fine. Paper 2 should be easier though, at least that's how i found it in the mocks :P
not sure. im sort of i the middle on that. some parts were ok and others were not but overall it was fine i guess ill just have to wait and see.

This dude predicted everything that came up loool how did you guys find the paper? I thought it could've been a lot worse tbh!
