Exam Jam Day 1- Biology!

It's the first day of TSR's Exam Jam for the May half term 2018, and today, the focus is on Biology!

Image

Whether it's GCSE or A level you're studying for, this is the place to ask questions, get advice and tell us about how your revision is going!

For today, we'll be using this thread as an all day revision thread. The idea is that you post your start time, when you plan to finish your study session, and what you want to achieve in that time (e.g. 10:00-10:45 - Make photosynthesis revision poster). Once the time's up, you can come back, tell everyone how you got on and take a well earned break!
We won't be running sessions at set times, so you can structure your study day to whatever works best for you, and though it's an all day revision thread, there's no expectation to study all day. It's important to make sure you are taking breaks and enjoying some of the nice weather too, since it is a holiday after all

If you get stuck with a past paper question when you're revising, or there's that one topic you really just can't get your head around, you can post your questions in this thread for other students to answer Explaining things to others can be really beneficial to your own understanding too

Check out the other threads for today's Biology Exam Jam
Discuss Your Biology Strengths and Worries
Share Your Favourite Revision Resources
(Will be updated throughout the day)

Oooh it’s like an interview

Ummmm... genes, inheritance, evolution, decay, biodiversity, sampling techniques etc.
I find BBC bitesize really helpful because they have practise questions on each unit, so I’ll be using these ones: https://www.bbc.com/education/guides/zgmktv4/revision/1 and also doing questions on Seneca Learning
Not wanting to exhaust my past paper supply until Year 11, so am holding off on doing them for the sciences just now

I'm gonna join in on this, it sounds really beneficial for me. Gonna make a mindmap of one of my media case studies. Giving myself around 11:35-12:05pm. Half an hour should be enough, I hope

Hey guys, im in year 11 and in our GCSE mock one question was "suggest BIOLOGICAL REASONS for the lower sizes and weights of limpets on an exposed shore compared to those on a sheltered one"

I remember I put stuff like more exposure to predators for one reasons and other sensible stuff but got marked down as apparently that isn't a biological reason

please help
