Why is this wrong?

So I solved xy+4y=3x
to be : x= -4y over (y-3)

BUT the answer is 4x over (3-x)

It is not the same thing and I'm confused as to how you get that answer. Can someone explain this step by step please.

it looks as if you are trying to find the inverse function f-1(x)

you just need to change each x to a y and each y to an x.

-4y/(y-3) is the same as 4y(-y + 3)

or 4y/(3 - y)
This actually part of finding the inverse of f(x) = 3x over (x+4) Does that help? @the bear

so you just do what you did, but at the end you need to change each x to a y and each y to an x.
