Charges in Magnetic Fields (Multiple Choice Question)

Hellooo,

I'm probably just being thick, but I can't seem to work out this question.

I used the equation F=BIlsin(angle), using B, I and l from the question and 60 degrees as my angle (which I was unsure about as they're asking for side QS) and got 1.03N. The correct answer is C, which is 1.2 N.

Could someone explain to me were I've gone wrong?

Thank you!

The key thing is that you need to QS is perpendicular to the magnetic field and you would get the answer from the MS.

Oh, got it!! That makes a lot of sense- I was completely misinterpreting the diagram. :colondollar:

Thank you
