Depends what the purpose is. The higher up the metal is in the reactivity series, the more reactive it will be. This will make it useful if needed to react with a substance such as in a displacement reaction. CuO + Zn = ZnO + Cu. Zn is higher up in the reactivity series than Cu. I’m honestly not too sure what you meant by your question but I hope that helped.
