Hi so I am wanting to know if anyone else has any experience with this. I have done a first year in a foundation degree and planning to leave to do another course. The new course is a 3 year BSc with an integrated foundation year. Would I be able to get the full funding for 4 years tutition fees and maintenance grant? I called student finance and they said “as far as we are aware you’ll get the full 4 years” but that hasn’t entirely filled me with confidence. If it helps, when applying through UCAS its classed as a 4 year (starting at year 0) and I have to go for an interview for the degree in order to get onto the foundation course.

I have foundation degree and onto a different 3 year course in a different uni (but hate it). I was asked to pay for the 1st year (2nd uni) from my own pocket and the other 2 years they will give me a loan.
Student funding is worth 4 years (the 4th being a gift year should a student resit a year). However I have already used the 2 years (failed 2nd year) and so only had 2 years left. I am a little astonished that they were able to fund for the full 4 year course. Can I ask did you drop out after first year (not entering 2nd year) or after 2nd year?

I’m planning on dropping out after completing my first year and not going onto the second year. This is why I’m a little confused as it’s length of the course plus a gift year but as it’s a three year degree plus an integrated foundation (four year code on Ucas) I’m not entirely sure whether I’d have to fund a year or not 🤷*♀️
