Are you being confident when you approach girls though? If you don't appear confident most girls won't even look at you, honestly just try and muster some confidence somewhere. Keep working out too, that'll definitely draw attention and make you feel better about yourself.

    Example:

Hey Audrey! You're a physics student at Glasgow, eh?!

I'm an Aero student at the same place! Gotta love all that physics and stuff.

    You're hella beautiful btw!

Ha so did you hear about the *insert funny joke about dynamics or something*.

OMG you're a scorpio, me too!

I do believe astrology is *******s(she's a science girl, she's got to agree, and hence hopefully common ground and all that good stuff ).

I'm in a bit of a small town, so there aren't many places to socialise, but I'll give it a go, thanks. And that story is an inspiration
Small towns are usually somewhat near a big city? Make an effort!

Bad example actually. Shoulda have seen she was going to St Andrew's, not Glasgow!

Even though she has an unconditional for Aero 8-)...

    Don't get things wrong!

don't give up on your algebra! I'm exactly like you, 3 of the best things to happen to me recently were getting 100% in C1 and Physics AS, winning the robocup nationals and proving that between every pair of rational numbers is atleast 1 irrational number.

However, at the start of this year along comes a gorgeous blonde girl, has everyone in the 6th form hitting on her day and night. Now we're incredibly flirtatious best friends, have a weird thing going on atm after a party on saturday where we spent the whole night and morning snuggled up together, and this afternoon we had a vayr boisterous conversation about whether time has a speed, after looking up whether there were any stephen hawkins lectures she could go to with her dad. I have also previously enthralled her with Euclid's proof about prime numbers, and differentiation from first principles to prove why differentiation works for x^n, and that the derivative of a sum is the sum of the derivatives.

So in summation: you don't WANT to go out with girls that think you're a freak for liking maths or science, there's plenty of girls out there with the same interest and desire about thos subjects. I know many a science geek who has NEVER been even close to having a gf (e.g. my best friend), so don't cry too much!

I'm not a physics student yet, applying for 08.
I got into Glasgow for aero eng, btw, might be taking it up.

OP, I completely agree with JoMo1, a lot of girls I know would really admire you for being good/taking an interest in maths.

I suggest you come to Aero! The subject could use more beautiful lasses.

Can't you join a maths society or something? Generally the girls at clubs won't be your type. It's crap for actually making meaningful conversation in there anyway cause its like

    HELLO!
    WHAT?

Try meeting a girl on campus if your a uni student, or next to someone in class is a good place. Provided you're allowed to talk - and even if you're not, the suspense of being secretive helps.

I doubt the OP is at Uni, that differentiation is C3 stuff so I presume he is year 13. Basically if you can wait till Uni you'll be fine, as soon as you're surrounded by people who converse at the same level as you everything will work out.
